 So did the other kids.

We taught the kids how to play croquet!
They get two shots for every one shot we take.

Henry played T-Ball for the first time this year.  His coach was a rockstar - she had the boys all in ready position and paying attention.

Henry got a rockin' haircut for Jenna's wedding.

Stella had a handful of nuts or candy here that she didn't want to share with Uncle Rod.
Grandpa was pretending to take Henry's dessert.
Congrats Keenan and Jenna!!  What a fun night!
 Ken, Rod, Jer
Stella and Henry did the Good Sam's Wild Run obstacle course!

This is what an empty campground looks like.  We were the only ones in this section at Cran Hill. It was a cold and rainy weekend.
The upside is that we could launch Henry's water rocket and not worry about hitting anyone's camper.

We spent a lot of time in the pavilion to get out of the rain.
Stella's cake that she decorated at Maranatha's VBS.
The kids got to feed the sheep bottles of milk.

Henry pet the kittens.  His allergies were not impressed.
The kids were going to do the wagon ride on their own, but with Henry's eyes swelling, I decided to go along just in case.

The pringles duck mouth lives on.
It rained quite a bit at the end, revealing just how much pollen was all over the campsite.
The kids enjoyed putting their pennies in the wishing well.

Jer played softball with church again this year.

The kids had fun with the hammock.
Drew led a game of croquet.

Henry got the guys to play some football.

Halfway through we had a game break.

Lots of relatives came for treats, including Jenna & Keenan.
Jer's I need my reading glasses face.
Papa came to the beach with me and the kids.
They played very well together and just enjoyed making holes and castles for a few hours.  This doesn't always happen, but it was great.

The family next to us fought the entire time.  I was tired just listening to them.

I met up with friends from high school for lunch at de Boer! Emily, Kristin, me, Kristin.
Stella and Leila had fun experimenting with make up this summer.
Henry helping Jer do TV sound at church.
Saying goodbye to our rusty old van.
And hello to our new van!
The girls made a new sign for their room!
Henry's answering sign!  Do I need to worry about battles?

We didn't add it, but the kids and their suits still smelled bad!
Brought together by Russ'! Keith, Bill, Andy, Sarah, Dan, Misti, me, and Jer all worked there!
 Fun in the pool!

Isaac and his many pairs of sunglasses!
All of the kids attempting to catch fireflies.
Leila, Henry, and Eddie made a cool pyramid shaped creation.
We went to Michigan's Adventure with E&V.
The kids still love the Frog Hopper.

Jer didn't want to do the spinning rides, so he ended up waiting for us quite a bit.

We also did some waiting.  The kids wanted to ride the Mad Mouse so we got in line, not realizing that we would wait in line for 1 hour and 10 minutes!

 Finally our turn!

This is the only ride poor Jer got to go on all day.

We went straight to the Conference Grounds from Michigan's Adventure.  Thanks Papa for setting up our camper for us!

 Time for french braids!
 Greta did Stella's hair too.

The kids and I ran the fun run and earned some ice cream!
Henry and his partner got second place in the corn hole tournament!

Jer and I took Norah, Paige, and Leila to the Hannah Kerr concert.

Leila's bubble blowing skillz are on point.
Jer took Leila to the Unity Music Festival.

Stella wrote her a note for when she got back.  She was so excited that I had bought them new deodorant and mouth wash.  Just for them.  Signed Stella. :)
We played family Monopoly.  Leila did not want her hair in rollers to be photographed.  I am mean like that.
 I won!
The kids ended the summer with purchasing three goldfish.
The first three did not make it.  Once we learned that we should not pet the fish, especially not outside of the bowl, we bought three more and they have been thriving ever since.

End of summer pool party! Stella, Myah, Abby

 Abby, Tyler, Henry

Time to take pictures of the kids again!

The last day before returning to school, we hung out with Papa, Norah, and Greta and went to Dutch Village.

We had to pet the bunnies and goats.

Papa rode the carousel with the kids.

After DV and lunch, the kids had a bit of iPad time.
Then papa broke out the modeling clay and they each made a few things and then he baked them to set.
First day of school!  Time just won't slow down!

Abby, Leila, Stella - the girls have been walking to school in the mornings with Abby and her mom, Sara.
I let the kids make slime!  All by themselves!  It was a big wet mess as they like to add too much contact solution.
We took a trip to Menard's and the kids had to try out the Halloween masks.

We met Dan, Misti, and Ella at the GR airport to hang out, eat, watch planes, and play euchre.
The kids brought along stuff to make necklaces.

 Soccer season 2019 begins!

Henry has the same sweatshirt as Reid, so he had me send this picture to Aunt Kari to see if Reid was wearing his that day too - he was!
The kids still enjoy playing in the sandbox once in a while.
I know that this won't happen for that much longer, so whenever he falls asleep in the car I like to take his picture.
E&V had a safety celebration with face painting, balloons, and inflatables.  The kids loved every minute of it!

Henry did a face plant on the slide and smeared his face paint.

Homecoming at HC brought independence for Leila and her friends - she went with them to play the games and then watch the football game.
 Stella, Leila, Julia, Eliana

Henry and Stella had more inflatable fun.

 And more face painting!

Julia, Eliana, Victoria, Jill, and Leila watched the game for probably 2 minutes.

Henry made a diorama of a habitat at school  the white one is a monkey and the yellow one is a lion.
Henry's soccer team! Coach Nate is doing a great job teaching the boys.

Leila met up with her friend Jill (whose brother was also having a practice on a nearby field) while we watched Henry practice.

Kid Quotes:

Henry: Your nipples are the only way to tell if you're cold.

I woke up Stella this morning and after rubbing her belly said: Wow you’re hot!
Stella: I’m not super hot, I’m just ha.

Stella: Guess what I want to be when I grow up.  It starts with an "R."
Me: A rhinoceros wrangler.
Stella: No, cuz I've never seen one on our street.  I want to be a restaurant worker.

Stella: Mom I have a spot on my leg and Leila says it is a pimple, but it’s not. I think it is either a bug bite or a zit, but not a pimple!
