And we're off!

Leila is totally mobile now - pretty much walking full time! This picture captures it pretty well - she can have balance issues that make her fall down, but she gets right back up! :)
She also loves to carry things while walking.
I am so glad we got this great picture of Leila and dolly...
before she kicked dolly off the swing! :)

Bigger than Leila

Leila saw Dada's shirt on the bed and wanted to try it on.
I thought that had cute possibilities, and I was right. Go state! :)
Today Grandma & Grandpa built Leila a very tall tower. I think she wanted to change it around a bit.
Apparently she decided to start over from scratch.

How does your garden grow?

Here is the pictorial progression of our garden.
First picture was June 3.
Three weeks made quite a difference,
and it looked like this on June 23.

We thought we were really cooking by July 4.

And now on July 17 we had to cut back some of the watermelon vine so that it did not take over the garden!

And here is Jeremy with his pride and joy - our first watermelon!

Ladybugs

When your nephew brings his live ladybug farm to your house and wants the bugs to watch him eat breakfast, and you notice some loose tape on their cage, you will put on some more, however concentrating on that will lead to...
this. Those are not ladybugs, thank goodness, they are cocoa crispies.
Oooh - the next step is to take your hand and spread them around as much as possible.
At least I had a lot of volunteers to help with clean up...Molly even got a piece of the action.

Summer Fun

If the water is warm and Mama is in the pool, Leila actually enjoys it!
I like this one, she is so beautiful.
This is our garden. There is a mass of yellow bean plants, a strawberry plant (produced two strawberries this year, which were eaten by animals), a watermelon plant, a cantaloupe plant, some tomato plants, some pepper plants, and a lonely corn plant. The melons are threatening the rest of the plants, hopefully they bear fruit. I am most excited about the beans because I will actually eat those, but Jer is really excited about the melons.
We went out to the beach when it was cool and a bit stormy a week or so ago, Leila was more excited about it than she looks in this picture. She was smiling and waving to all the people we passed on the way out to the pier and dancing in her stroller seat because she was so excited. Apparently I should have taken her picture then.
