Leila's Baptism

We celebrated Leila's baptism on August 23. She wore the same baptism dress that I wore when I was baptized.

I don't think he would be offended to know that she fell asleep during the sermon.
We had a brunch with family and friends afterward at our house.

We were so busy getting ready for the brunch that we forgot to take a picture of the family while we were still dressed up!

First trip to the beach!

Leila has had her first experience at the beach!
Dad dipped her toes in the lake
but Leila did not think it was too much fun
we tried a few times, just to make sure
she decided it was nicer up on the sand

Play Date

She is ready to go again, this time with her buddy, Greta the giraffe:Today we had another play date with Leila and Ellery. Let's face it, for now, they are play dates for me and Sarah! Someday they will be play dates for the girls.
I think that they had fun anyway :) Ellery held Leila's hand for a bit, but we had put the cameras away by then of course!

Back to Work

It is time for me to go back to work. I can hardly believe it. Nana is all set to take Leila on Thursdays so I can work. Hopefully Leila will cooperate and take her bottles ok for Nana. As we speak, Daddy is not having the greatest of luck.

What we're up to

It is getting easier to take pictures of Leila where she is actually smiling!
Last weekend we went to Grand Haven to watch our friends run in the Coast Guard 5k.
The whole family did the kids fun run.
I finally put Leila's bathing suit on her, just to see how cute she would look in it, but she did not agree...she needed Daddy to get her to stop crying.Here is the teary front view:)
