This past Sunday we had Henry baptized at our church. Stella was raring to go and help Pastor Jim, so she went up by him early while he read our vows, and just to make sure everyone knew what was going on, she yelled out, "Henry baptize!" at the top of her lungs.
**Two weeks later there was another baptism and as I was listening to the reading that he had been doing when Stella went up, he said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them." I did not notice it that day, but how perfect it fit the situation. I am so glad that we serve a Lord that loves children and adults!
Her brother followed suit and cried out after the water hit. The girls were baptized in my baptism dress and now Henry was baptized in his father's baptism romper, just like his uncles and male cousins before him.
We have had In Christ Alone sung at each of our children's baptisms, this time Rod and Jenna sang it as special music. I just love the lyrics, they first stood out to me when I was pregnant with Leila and I heard the line about life's first cry.
In Christ alone my hope is found;
He is my light, my strength, my song;
This cornerstone, this solid ground,
Firm through the fiercest drought and storm.
What heights of love, what depths of peace,
When fears are stilled, when strivings cease!
My comforter, my all in all—
Here in the love of Christ I stand.
In Christ alone, Who took on flesh,
Fullness of God in helpless babe!
This gift of love and righteousness,
Scorned by the ones He came to save.
Till on that cross as Jesus died,
The wrath of God was satisfied;
For ev'ry sin on Him was laid—
Here in the death of Christ I live.
There in the ground His body lay,
Light of the world by darkness slain;
Then bursting forth in glorious day,
Up from the grave He rose again!
And as He stands in victory,
Sin's curse has lost its grip on me;
For I am His and He is mine—
Bought with the precious blood of Christ.
No guilt in life, no fear in death—
This is the pow'r of Christ in me;
From life's first cry to final breath,
Jesus commands my destiny.
No pow'r of hell, no scheme of man,
Can ever pluck me from His hand;
Till He returns or calls me home—
Here in the pow'r of Christ I'll stand.
He is my light, my strength, my song;
This cornerstone, this solid ground,
Firm through the fiercest drought and storm.
What heights of love, what depths of peace,
When fears are stilled, when strivings cease!
My comforter, my all in all—
Here in the love of Christ I stand.
In Christ alone, Who took on flesh,
Fullness of God in helpless babe!

It was too cold to just leave him in the onsie, so I changed him after I fed him and then he had a good nap.
We had a lot of family and friends over to celebrate with us afterward. Henry slept through most of his party.
He is starting to think about sleeping through the night regularly, which I am totally ready for any time :)
The other morning Leila and Stella were playing together and Leila told Stella she was her babysitter which morphed into Leila being their cousin Jenna, then they both wanted to be Jenna, and apparently a hat and a purse or two is the way to be Jenna.
Henry is starting to drool a ton and I am thinking I might start having to put bibs on him to soak some of it up.
This morning after baths we decided to paint toe and finger nails - Stella is showing her sparkly nails off, can't you tell?
