It was a whirlwind of a day today! We worked hard to get everything packed and ready to go. We met Grandpa at his house around 10am and went to the airport. We got our luggage checked in - we only had 4 suitcases, 5 backpacks, a camera case, and a stroller! We went through security with the 15 of us. Thankfully it all went well. Our flight was on time and we were in the Orlando airport around 4pm. After lots of chasing around there, we were on the bus and made it to Old Key West by about 5pm. Then we settled in for a few minutes and took the bus to Disney Springs for supper. We went with just our family to Wolfgang Puck Express. Then we got right back on the bus back to our room to get the kids to bed. The kids handled everything wonderfully and we could not have been more proud!
12-19-15 Saturday
Henry decided to get up multiple times during the night and Stella did once too. On top of that, everyone got up early! So we had breakfast in our room and then packed our bag and stroller for a day at the Magic Kingdom. The five of us took the bus there and rode the teacups and the Dumbo ride multiple times. We also took each of the kids on Goofy’s Barnstormer – their first real rollercoaster! We had to take turns because each kid needed to ride with an adult. Henry was HORRIBLY upset when mom left him to go with Stella. This started a meltdown for him that was hard to recover from. We went on a Buzz Lightyear ride and tried to eat lunch but it was a disaster, so we decided to leave the park and go back to the hotel for naps. Henry slept on the bus ride back but didn't want to sleep or eat his lunch. After a little quiet time we went to a playground. We went back to the room, watched tv for a few minutes and got ready for supper. We had a 2 hour long sit down meal with all 15 of us (uncle Ryan wasn't there yet) at Olivia's, the resort's restaurant. Then Leila went back to Magic Kingdom with Nana, Papa, Reid, and Paige. Uncle Rich and Aunt Lindsey had a date night so the rest of us went back and got the little kids to bed. Leila stayed out past 10pm!!
12-20-15 Sunday
We got up a few times in the night with Henry and everyone was up early. This was a non-park day for us. We took the bus to Magic Kingdom and then transferred to the monorail to the Polynesian resort. We had a BIG breakfast there and then made our way back to our resort and got our swimsuits on and went to the pool for a while. We had a light lunch in our room and Jer went for a run while the kids napped. The whole family (except for the brother-in-laws) had to leave at 3:30 for an early supper at Trail’s End - with a bus transfer in between we made the decision not to eat at any other resorts again, it was too much for the kids. It was a buffet, and we took advantage of the banana supply – Henry goes through them quickly and they were $1.69 per banana at the resort!
12-21-15 Monday
Everyone got up early for a day at Animal Kingdom. We decided to try to stick together with all 16 of us. We started out in Dino World with the kids on a Triceratops ride similar to the Dumbo ride and most of the adults did a spinning roller coaster. Then the adults had a fast pass for the Dinosaur ride, so Kari and Nana took the rest of the kids. Then there was a communication break down and we all finally regrouped back in Dino world at the bone yard, which had a lot of slides and things for the kids to play independently on. Henry was in his element there and went on the highest slide over and over all by himself. Then we went to Africa for a snack and to go on a safari. We all enjoyed seeing the animals, then tried to go to the lion king show but it was sold out. Henry had an allergy fit so we stayed with him while the girls went with the family to walk and see more animals. Then Abby, Kari, and Nana took all of the kids but Reid to lunch at Yak & Yeti. We met back up after some of the adults rode the Everest roller coaster, then took the bus back because the kids were getting tired. Henry slept all of the way home but didn't take a regular nap - Jer did though :). We relaxed and watched tv with a snack, then went back to downtown Disney for supper at Cooke's Irish pub.
12-22-15 Tuesday
Another non-park rest day! We were able to sleep in a little and then we all had breakfast at Olivia's. Then we went straight to the pool to relax for the day. We went back to the room at lunchtime and Jer, Ryan, and Rich went golfing and out to supper at Bongos Cuban restaurant. The kids napped and went with the rest of the family back to Olivia's for supper. The kids took a bath in the whirlpool tub and loved it!
12-23-15 Wednesday
We started out with a quick breakfast at the room and then took the bus to Epcot. The five of us started off with the Nemo ride and Turtle Talk with Crush – a very cool animated interactive thing that of course terrified our kids :). Then I took the girls to Soarin' and Jer and Henry found a bench. Henry does not like being separated at all! He through a big fit!! We happened to pass Nana, Papa, Ryan, and Reid, and they took the girls with them. We walked with Henry around the different countries and made our way to Italy to meet back up with them for lunch at Via Napoli. After lunch we walked through the rest of the countries on our way out with the five of us. We stopped for some pictures with Pluto and made our way back. Henry sort of napped while Jer and the girls went to the pool. Then we took a bus to Disney Springs and had supper at the Smokehouse. After a TON of busing delays we finally made it home.
12-24-15 Thursday Christmas Eve
We went back to Magic Kingdom. We met ARIEL!! Then we went on the Little Mermaid ride and had breakfast at the Beast's Castle with the Rays. We went on the Carousel and It’s A Small World. Then Jer, Leila, and Henry played in the water while Abby and Stella went on the Severn Dwarves Mine Trail rollercoaster. We had snacks and went on the Peter Pan ride with everyone. Finally we met Elsa and Anna and each of the kids picked out their souvenirs. We went back to our room for lunch. Jer went for a run and then Abby and Leila went to the pool. As kids woke up, everyone met at the pool and we fed the kids supper. Nana & Papa watched all of the kids so we went back to Magic Kingdom and went to Pecos Bill's for supper. We walked around and saw part of the light show on the castle, but the crowds were pretty overwhelming so we went into a store to pick out a souvenir and wait for the fireworks to start. We heard the fireworks start but hadn’t finished checking out – they were done by the time we did! Oh well.
Papa has accidental Mickey ears!
Leila found Allie, one of her friends from school, while at the park!
Pushing 4 in the stroller!
Anna LOVED Henry!
SO MANY PEOPLE!!
12-25-15 Friday Christmas Day
Today we started off with a quick breakfast at our villa and then went to Hollywood Studios. Abby, Lindsey, and Rich went on Rockin’ Rollercoaster 3 times and also on Tower of Terror. Jer, Kari, and Nana watched the 7 kids. They went to a muppet 3D movie but Jer had to walk out because Henry didn't like it. Then we played at the Honey I Shrunk the Kids playground and did some photos with characters. Then we met up with everyone else for the Little Mermaid show – which Abby had to walk out of with Stella and Henry because Stella could not pull herself together. Then Henry had another allergy fit. Next we had lunch at Hollywood N Vine. It was a Disney Jr character lunch. Then we saw a live Disney Jr show where Henry fall asleep. When it was done we went back to the room and left Leila with Kari and Nana. Wen we got out of the show, our stroller was gone!! We asked around and found out that it had been moved to a stroller parking area and we were able to find it. Henry and Stella took short naps while Jer hit the pool. Then the four of us went back to the park for supper and to find Leila. We watched the Osborne Family Light Show that was pretty awesome! Then we made our way back and tried to get the kids to bed and get packed for our trip back home.
Aerosmith's Rockin' Rollercoaster was the BEST!
12-26-15 Saturday
An early breakfast using up the last of our meal plan, then back on the Magic Express to the airport. The kids shared candy we bought with the last of our snack credits and played ipads while we waited to board the plane home.
